Gautam had completed Chartered Accountancy after several attempts, and to his luck, landed up with Anand – a close friend and brilliant CA – to launch an Accounting Services company named FAB. He finds love in the same profession, without much ado. Can life really be all that simple and straightforward?
Can mere accountants build a valuable, visible, scalable and glamorous enterprise that could also attract business from across borders?
That’s when Vimal comes in with a delectable package – an impressive consulting profile and his smart and very beautiful sister Ruchi, who agrees to support these starry-eyed entrepreneurs with her marketing acumen.
FAB grows but the relationship depletes. Some pull the strings, while others become puppets.
Should they continue with the current arrangement, or exit completely?
Ready.. Steady.. Exit is a humorous, dramatic, romantic, enlightening and entertaining read. This story and narrative will inspire every reader, even more so if you are an entrepreneur or a Chartered Accountant or someone associated with financial services.
The success of any author is bringing in a level of credibility to what he or she wishes to narrate and PC naturally has this amazing quality in him. A must read for any one having even a remote interest in knowing about CA as a profession (particularly in South India) and how the life of a young and ambitious entrepreneur could pan out.
SambasivanA must read for the wannabe entrepreneur. Discover the romance of free enterprise and savour the riches that true financial freedom confers in the first 120 pages. Negotiate the grey space between law and ethics thereafter, if you are keen to turn your riches into wealth. Between staying rich and getting wealthy, lies the invaluable wisdom that underlies the intriguing world of valuers and valuation! Learn from the school of hard knocks or read this book!
ShekarsanA good story well told. I especially liked the local flavor and the simple unpretentious breezy style. Naivety of first time entrepreneurs, shenanigans of “consultants”, wheeling-dealing of brokers, and entrapment, all make an interesting tale.
Mahesh IyerWritten in a leisurely style , Ready Steady Exit holds the reader engaged from start to finish. It is a story of two enterprising friends in Chennai who want to make it big on their own. It is well narrated with humour interspersed. All in all, a book worthy of appreciation.
AnanthI felt emotionally touched. Enjoyed the subtle sarcasm and humour. Also felt that each page contained a strong event and couldn’t even skip a page. My honest rating is ”Exceeded Expectations”. After a long time, I had the happy feeling of finishing a book in one go. Some credit to Bala for keeping it short but more for keeping it so interesting. Kudos. Will recommend it to most of my friends who have not read it yet...A fantastic read indeed
Krishnamoorthy A nice thought from the punch dialogues
It’s a wholesome entertainment. Struggles, romance, family pressure, entrepreneurship, the private equity space, the stock market wolves – Ready, Steady Exit is all rolled into one. The pace at which things were moving amazes me.
